MLL YouthNet
MLL YouthNet website and its social media channels provides a platform for the online youth participation activities. In YouthNet young people can find awareness information and tools, express publicly their views and productions, reach the Helpline services and share peer support in different themes.
The platform is utilized to get a youth perspective for awareness raising about themes that are actual for young people, like social relations, bullying, media, puberty, sexuality, parents’divorce, hobbies, school, work and everyday life skills. The YouthNet’s operational language is Finnish.
MLL Young Web Editors, recruited and coached by MLL staff, produce content and updates to the YouthNet social media channels and the website, facilitate discussion, promote positive peer support and self- expression. The methodology has proven to include youth from rural areas and youth with various backgrounds and possible disabilities. The work of the editors is guided by joint ethical principles supervised by MLL staff.
Child and Youth Helpline is open every day of the year. The helpline can be accessed via phone, chat and through a digital message service. The service number 116 111 is a pan-European child helpline a number common to all European countries.
Services are meant for all children and youth under the age of 21 years old. Helpline contacts are answered by trained volunteers, who always work under the real time guidance and supervision of trained professionals. Helpline activities comply with the Voluntary Telephone and Online Help principles of the Advisory Committee on Ethical Principles.
